What is renters insurance and should I have it?

What are the medical requirements needed to get a Light Sport (LSA) license?

Feb 1, 2010 --- It's true that if you fail an FAA medical exam you cannot act as a Sport Pilot based on your driver's license. Under the Sport Pilot rule you can "self certify" yourself as physically fit to act as pilot in command of a sport aircraft if you hold a valid US drivers license and have never been turned down for a medical certificate.

How much should I plan to spend on my Private Pilot license?

Nov 1, 2009 --- This question is difficult to answer because so many variables go into it. The FAA says that you need to log at least 40 hours of flight time to apply for a pilot's license. Very few people actually finish their training in the minimum number of hours. The national average is closer to 62 hours. Another factor that affects the cost is the type of aircraft you learn to fly in. A Cessna 152 or a Flight Design CTSW's rental rates are less than a Piper Warrior.
