Jan 1, 2010 --- Having just a Private license will not allow you to work as a professional pilot. Having a commercial license will, but your options will be limited. Most companies like to see their pilot candidates have some experience as a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI). Working as a CFI is often the best way to reach the minimum flight hours needed by most airlines.

Our flight school is not affiliated with any specific airline or company that hires pilots. However we usually have the need and ability to hire most of our students that earn their CFI rating. Regardless of our flight school's needs, nationally there is a high demand for CFI's. Finding an instructors job is not difficult.

Today's entry level job prospects are very good at this time. Many new commercial pilots are being hired with 500-600 total hours, significantly less than what was needed just a few years ago. Most industry experts expect this positive demand to continue for the near future.
